POSM Merge Sessions Function a Best-Kept Secret (Weapon)

Combine Upstream and Downstream Runs Into a Single Inspection
The POSM Merge Sessions function lets you take two related CCTV runs—such as upstream and downstream inspections of the same pipe segment—and merge them into a single, continuous inspection record.
This makes it easier to review the full length of the pipe, generate final reports, and deliver a clean set of data to your engineers and asset–management systems.
When to Use Merge Sessions
- When a long pipe had to be inspected in two passes from opposite directions.
- When an obstruction forced a crew to stop and then re–enter from the other end.
- When you want one final report that represents the entire segment.
How It Works
- Select the two sessions that represent the upstream and downstream runs.
- Use the Merge Sessions option in POSM.
- Let POSM stitch the data together into a unified inspection.
The result is a single inspection record with continuous video and observation data, ready for export, review, or mapping.
A Powerful but Often Overlooked Tool
Although Merge Sessions has been available for years, many users don't realize how much it can simplify their workflows. If your crews frequently split inspections into multiple runs, this feature can save time and reduce confusion during reporting.
